Huizenga, Wayne

The Junior College of Broward County Foundation Corporation was incorporated in 1966, but never completed its organizational activities. In 1971, the Broward Community College Foundation was incorporated and took root. Today the BCC Foundation is one of the nation's top community college foundations, with total assets of more than $55 million. The BCC Foundation was the nation's first community college foundation to complete an endowed teaching chairs campaign. At the conclusion of Campaign 2000, donors were presented with specially created crystal doorknobs because their donations helped open doors to brighter futures for students.
