Endowed Teaching Chair

The Junior College of Broward County Foundation Corporation was incorporated in 1966, but never completed its organizational activities. In 1971, the Broward Community College Foundation was incorporated and took root. Today the BCC Foundation is one of the nation's top community college foundations, with total assets of more than $55 million. The BCC Foundation was the nation's first community college foundation to complete an endowed teaching chairs campaign. Dr. Deborah Sloan, a counselor at South Campus, became the first BCC graduate to be named recipient of an endowed teaching chair from the BCC foundation in 1998.
